PRE-season Player and Referee Event (PREPARE)

Join us for a pre-season tune-up for the 2024 season.

Registration is required for this event in order for you to receive credit for attending an AHSAA rules meeting.  Registration will also enable us to ensure we have a 2023-2024 AHSAA soccer rules book available for you (assuming you haven't received a copy yet).

The training event will be held on January 27, 2024.  Show time is 7:45am; start time is at 8am.  You will be done by 3pm.

Lunch and snacks are provided!  If you have special dietary requirements, please make sure you document those in your registration.

Alabama State Camp

Alabama State Camp

On 20 January 2024, in Rainbow City, and 21 January 2024 in Mobile, we will have our Soccer Referee State Camp. Referees attending the State Camp only need to attend either the one on the 20th or the 21st. This is an in-person event.

Attendance at the State Camp also gives you credit for District Camp. However, I highly encourage you to also attend your local District Camp if one is being offered.

The event on 20 January will include a classroom session plus refereeing games/field evaluation. The session on 21 January will be classroom only.

The cost to attend the State Camp is $40. You must register to attend. Registration ends 7 January 2024.

4. If you belong to an association that will cover your registration cost, please have your association treasurer contact me.

We will have specific State Camp information to follow for those who register.

AHSAA Association Meeting - ONLINE

This weather is snow joke.

Our association meeting scheduled for tomorrow, January 16th, will be moved online. Start time is 6:00 PM.

Training will include DFK and IFK, and if time allows, Misconduct, cautionable offenses, and sending-off offenses.

AHSAA KickOff Association Meeting

Our first meeting of the season for high school soccer. Remember that you must attend meetings to officiate AHSAA soccer. The 2024 Soccer Rules Book will be available for pickup. You MUST be registered for AHSAA Soccer to obtain a 2023-2024 Soccer Rules Book.

NW District Camp

The tentative agenda for this year’s district camp will be:
- 2024 Rules Changes – Rule Books to be distributed to attendees
- Observations – Who’s watching and what are they looking for?
- High School Soccer vs. Club Soccer
- Brandi Fletcher – DragonFly Refresher
- Effective Match Report Writing and Procedures
- “I’ll take Misconduct for $100 Alex”

Snacks, Lunch and refreshments will be provided

The cost of this year’s District Camp will be $40 per referee. Receipt of your payment is your registration. I will send a confirmation to all that have paid.

**You must be registered for the AHSAA soccer season to attend the district camp. Register in DragonFly as soon as possible.

New USSF Referee Field Training

Location: John Hunt Soccer Complex Field #5

2151 Airport Rd Huntsville AL 35801

This course is for those who wish to become a new United States Soccer Federation (USSF) soccer Referee and obtain a license for the remainder of 2023 and all of 2024. The Course has two components:

  1. Completion of all online coursework found on this page AND

  2.  Mandatory attendance of a field session scheduled for Sunday, September 17, 2023, from 10 a.m. to Noon at the John Hunt Soccer Complex, Field #5.

The Course requires the completion of the online Course materials, located under the ASSIGNMENTS tab above. Candidates should complete the online coursework before the scheduled field session to gain the most from the field session and obtain a license. If the candidate does not complete the online coursework by the deadline, the candidate may need to be transferred to the next available field session in the area.

For those candidates 18 and over, US Soccer also requires the candidate to apply for and pass a background check. The background check requires an additional $30 fee that is required directly by US Soccer. A candidate will still be allowed to attend the mandatory field session in the event their background check is still in process, but their license will not be issued until the background check is cleared.

USSF Fall Kickoff Meeting

Our meeting on September 5 is an opportunity to delve into the latest developments within NASOA and receive valuable training. One of the highlights of the evening will be a captivating video analysis by our very own soccer philosopher, Tim Barron. Tim will decipher IFAB's most recent Laws of the Game changes.

It is HIGHLY encouraged that all new referees attend the meeting.

USSF New Referee Field Training

This Course is for those who wish to become a new soccer Referee and obtain a license for the reminder of 2023 and all of 2024. The Course has 2 components:
  1. Completion of all online course work found on this page, AND
  2.  Mandatory attendance of a field session scheduled for Sunday, August 13, 2023, from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Merrimack Soccer Complex. Field #18 (Turf Fields).
The Course requires the completion of the online Course materials, at the U.S Learning Center Candidates should complete the online course work prior to the scheduled field session in order to gain the most from the field session and obtain a license. If the candidate does not complete the online course work by the deadline, the candidate may need to be transferred to the next available field session in the area.
